Vote for Kersting-Lark

Dulce Kersting-Lark is a candidate for the Moscow School Board Zone 3, having served about 10 months to fill a vacancy.

As a successful graduate of public schools, she is a strong advocate for public education. When children from different families attend the same public schools, we can help bridge divisions in the community.

With her young child, Dulce understands the importance of quality early childhood education. It’s valuable to have a board member who is focused on the beginning of the path through the school district, which is a different perspective than current board members and also different than her opponent. With a child who will go through Moscow schools, she will be looking well into the future. She also knows that teachers are trained professionals who know the best methods to help students learn and they deserve respect, just as students and families do.

Dulce has been active in the community, in groups that include a diversity of community members: Lion’s Club, Moscow Women’s Giving Circle, Historical Society and Moscow Day School, to name a few. As her colleague, I know she is organized, efficient, articulate, responsible and she does her homework. Having worked in nonprofits and education, she knows how to make the most of a budget, or seek outside funding or public-private partnerships.

Dulce has invested in learning about the school district during her appointment. Let her continue to use that knowledge to benefit our community’s children. Zone 3: Please join me in voting for Dulce.

Choose Snarr and Hanks

All of us should have our ballots for Asotin County, which includes the races for the Clarkston School District.

It is too bad no one ran in Districts 2 and 3 to unseat the incumbents.

Remember, all the current school board members are the same people in favor of taxing school district taxpayers $25,000 (or more) to pay to remodel one school.

In District 5, vote out the incumbent by selecting Todd Snarr.

In District 1, the best choice is Rick Hanks, with his ideas to “fix the problems” and keep taxpayer debt low. He has earned all our support as a voice of reason and common sense that is needed within the Clarkston School Board.

Randles and Bunce care

We’re all busy and tired these days, but I urge each of you to make the time to check out your ballot and cast a vote for Chris Bunce and Dan Randles for the Clarkston School Board.

I have been an educator in the Clarkston School District for the past 22 years, and I serve as president of the Clarkston Education Association.

Dan Randles and Chris Bunce have won the endorsement of the Washington Education Association and the Clarkston Education Association because they care about our students and infrastructure.

Chris Bunce has a proven track record of coming through for our students, and I especially appreciate how she has supported the teachers and students as a Clarkston School Board member and a teacher’s assistant in the Clarkston School District.

Dan Randles would bring 30 years as an educator to this position. That daily experience is critical to understanding the real needs of students and schools. Dan Randles has discussed his vision for the Clarkston schools, and I was especially encouraged to hear that improving technology and infrastructure are his top priorities. Dan Randles’ 30-year teaching career has him best suited to understand the needs of our students and facilities.

On behalf of my students, thank you for taking the time to vote.
