The Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation has awarded $97,355 to 12 organizations in its second round of small grants in 2024.

The grants support efforts to prevent disease and improve health in north central Idaho, southeastern Washington and Wallowa County, Ore.

The foundation was established in 2017 by then-Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden as part of the sale of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center by Ascension Health, a not-for-profit organization, to RCCH Healthcare Partners, a for-profit business.

A list of the recent grant recipients, the purpose for their grants and the amount of the grants is as follows:

Willow Center, Lewiston, grief mental health support group — $10,000.

Family Promise of Lewis Clark Valley, Lewiston, family shelter program and diaper bank — $10,000.

Pullman Community Center on Aging, Pullman, well-being needs of seniors — $4,860.

National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Boise, Region 2 crisis intervention team training — $10,000.

Interlink, Clarkston, volunteer transportation for the disabled — $10,000.

Whitman County Public Health, Colfax, community clinic — $10,000.

West Park Elementary in partnership with Safe Routes to School Moscow and University of Idaho, biking curriculum for kindergarten and first-grade students — $10,000.

Juliaetta-Kendrick Good Samaritan Food Bank, Kendrick — $4,000.

Lewiston Clarkston Lions Club, Lewiston, eyesight and hearing equipment for school screenings — $9,995.

Friendly Neighbor Senior Citizens, Moscow, food service — $6,000.

Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewiston, free community dinner — $2,500.

Potlatch Food Pantry Corporation, Potlatch, monthly food purchases — $10,000.

The foundation is accepting applications for requests between $25,000 to $100,000 through July 31. Information is available at Lewisclarkhealth.org.
