The Clarkston couple will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday.
Clyde Conklin and Karen Riggs were married Aug. 4, 1973, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Baker City, Ore. After their wedding, the couple moved to Miles City, Mont., where Clyde began his career in banking and Karen began hers in teaching. They later moved to Sidney, Mont., and in 1976, the couple moved to Clarkston.
Clyde retired in 2006 from First Bank and Karen retired from teaching in 2008.
Their hobbies include camping, fishing and watching the kids and grandkids in sporting events. Clyde spends many hours in his woodshop and Karen spends time in her garden.
They have three sons and six grandchildren who they love spending time with.
Their family celebrated their anniversary early in June by attending a Seattle Mariners game. In August, Clyde and Karen will continue the celebration by spending time at Ocean Shores, Wash.
