The Asotin couple will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary Tuesday with a family gathering in Asotin.

Billy Greer and ClairBelle Lang were married May 28, 1949, at the old Lewiston Roundup grounds in North Lewiston.

For 43 years, Billy worked for Potlatch Forests Inc. (now Clearwater Paper), first in the sawmill and then in the paper mill, and retired from there.

His hobbies include vintage cars, and he has restored a 1938 Ford pickup truck and a 1967 Mustang convertible. He currently is working on two other vehicles. He also enjoys gardening.

Katie has worked at various jobs. She owned and operated a dress shop in Lewiston before attending Walla Walla Community College to earn her general education development certificate. She then went to beauty school to become a cosmetologist, and owned and operated her beauty shop for 40 years before retiring.

Both enjoy camping, and she also likes quilting and sewing.

She is a member of the Red Hat Society in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley, and Women of the Moose and the Eagles Auxiliary, both in Clarkston. He is a member of the Moose and Eagles.

They have three daughters, Bobby Raspone, Betty Weissenfels and Bonniabelle Grieve. Their son, Billy Jr., died in 2003. They also have six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
