You tell them, Charlie

I was going over all my information on the Lochsa land exchange deal when a great frustration came over me.

Then I remembered a quote that reminded me of the Idaho County commissioners: "In my book, a pioneer is man who turned all the grass upside down, strung barbed wire over the dust that was left, poisoned the water and cut down the trees, killed the wildlife and Indians who owned the land, and called it progress. If I had my way, the land would be here like God made it, and none of you sons of bitches would be here at all." Charlie Russell of Great Falls, Mont., said that in the 1920s.

Right on, Charlie!

Our national forests belong to all the citizens of the United States, not just to the Idaho County commissioners. In the next elections for Idaho County commissioners, we should vote every one of these jokers out of office!

Sure wish Charlie could go with me to the next commission meeting.

Fleeced without end

Regarding: "Sweet deal: Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac heads make $6 million a year": The two companies that we all thought were no longer being supported by taxpayers are still active.

Meanwhile, veterans benefits, Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, Medicare, Medicaid and other programs are being cut. Veterans and the elderly of this nation, as well as taxpayers, are being ripped off.

And you think a government job doesn't pay well? Think again.

The top six executives at the two busted, bailed-out, nationalized outfits got $35 million for two years of hard work. The two heads got half of that.

This year, they may clear $6 million each.

Nice work if you can get it, and if you get it, tell me how.

A few members of Congress snort and whine and make outraged noises, but nobody gets fired.

For $6 million a year, I'd take a lambasting verbally. Sticks and stones will break my bones, but I will still collect my paycheck.

In Washington, D.C., people get paid very well for massive failure. Fannie Mae has asked for another $7.8 billion in bailout money for this year. Freddie Mac has asked for a mere $6 billion.

Congress will pony it up, despite snorting. Watch.

This sort of thing will never end until the federal government finally goes belly up. That day will come. Until then, the public will be fleeced.

What's the fuss?

If Herman Cain were a black Democrat instead of a Republican, nothing at all would be said about something that happened 20 years ago.

Bill Clinton had a sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky; John Kennedy with Marilyn Monroe, Ted Kennedy with Mary Jo Kopechne, who mysteriously drowned in a car wreck after driving home with Kennedy from a party; FDR had a sexual relationship with his wife's secretary and she had a room next to his and Eleanor's in the White House.

The more people sling mud at Cain, the more support he gets.
