MOSCOW — The Moscow Human Rights Commission is inviting residents to participate in a panel discussion called “United Against Hate” from 6-8:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at the 1912 Center in Moscow.

The discussion will feature representatives from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho, FBI, and local law enforcement, along with a panel of local stakeholders including Sam Martinet, executive director of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, Mario Pile, director of the University of Idaho Black African/American Cultural Center, and others.

The topics include federal hate crimes and anti-discrimination statutes; reporting unlawful acts of hate and discrimination; and inclusive community partnerships and activities.

The event is sponsored by the Moscow Human Rights Commission, the Latah County Human Rights Task Force, the Nez Perce Tribe and the U.S. Department of Justice.
