MOSCOW — An 18-year-old Lewiston man was taken via air to a local hospital following a head-on car crash Monday morning on U.S. Highway 95 south of Moscow.

According to the Idaho State Police, the man was driving a 2001 Ford Ranger northbound on U.S. 95 at approximately 7:30 a.m. His vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2009 Honda CR-V head-on. The male’s Ford Ranger then caught fire.

The Honda was driven by a 20-year-old Caldwell woman who was wearing a seat belt. She was taken to a local hospital by a ground ambulance.

The Lewiston man was not wearing a seat belt. The crash blocked the highway for more than three hours. It remains under investigation.
