I read in today's LMT that President Bush accused the Democratic Congress of acting irresponsibly by attaching deadlines for troop withdrawals to the Iraq war appropriations. Methinks the pot doth call the kettle black.

He who started a $500 billion war costing over 3,200 American lives on false pretenses. He who ignores scientific evidence on human-caused global warming, perhaps the greatest challenge to face the world today. He who has left the Katrina-ravaged Gulf Coast in ruins. He who has authorized wiretapping of any citizen he deems a likely suspect of terrorism. He who has presided over the largest budget deficits in U.S. history. He whose policies have benefited the wealthy over the needy at every turn. He whose government has outed an American spy for political gain. And lastly, but probably not finally, he who has alienated our allies and friends the world over is the most irresponsible president in United States history.

He and his neocon wonks obviously think we're so ignorant that their blatant lies and hypocrisies become a rationale for policy. If we truly care about our liberties, our standing in the world community, and our responsibility to our fellow citizens and our descendants, we will throw the rascals out in the next and future elections.
