Pro college football

Here’s a suggestion for pro college football.

Every May 1, all professional universities submit their bank statements verifying money in the bank. The top cash 24 professional universities will be in the two leagues allowed to participate in that season’s professional university football league.

Everyone else can just go have fun.

Missing the bulbs

For several weeks I have been shopping for 40- and 60-watt incandescent light bulbs. None can be found; only LED bulbs.

What I learned from one merchant is that on a recent date, it was directed that incandescent light bulbs could no longer be sold. The shelves were stripped of these longtime, reliable sources of light.

Is this massive inventory of incandescent bulbs now going to landfills around the country?

I don’t recall reading about any state or federal legislation mandating the cessation of incandescent light bulb sales on a specific date. If some bureaucratic agency can take far-reaching action such as this without legislation, what is to stop some other agency from perhaps dictating that no one older than the age of 75 qualifies for a pacemaker implant?

Come to think about it, that has already happened with Ivermectin. Studies are now coming out that indicate this drug could have been a reliable, safe treatment for COVID-19 if doctors had been permitted to make the decision, not politicians.

Heat pumps cost less

Bob Hassoldt (Tribune Nov. 26) perhaps did not read everything the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory said about heat pumps and their costs, because they show that the usage cost is significantly less than using natural gas.

This seems the same sort of contrariness the auto industry had against seat belts.

New e-edition feedback

Here’s some feedback on your new e-edition.

You can’t get the page with the box scores and the print in the comics is really small and hard to read. These are two things I enjoyed about the old e-edition.
