Louise McKinney

Louise Fay McKinney (Bonson), “WeezyAnna,” “Wibbly,” “Weezer,” the woman of many names was also a woman of many talents. She passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in Spokane. She loved crocheting, baking and cooking among other things.

She was born May 10, 1954, in Clarkston, to Ernie and Joyce Bonson. She was the fourth of seven kids. Louise had three amazing kids, Reuben, Mellisa and Scott. She also had her sister Sandy’s kids who also thought of their Auntie Weezer as a second mom. There were few things that Louise loved more than her family, but a few of them were baking, crocheting, church and of course her beloved Lewiston-Clarkston Valley.

In midlife, Louise suffered a failure of her immune system, crippling her with stiff-man syndrome, blinding her vision with cone dystrophy and imposing primary diabetes. She was one of only two people worldwide known to have these conditions simultaneously. However, through this challenge, God granted her the emotional strength that her family and friends came to rely on. Besides her sunny disposition, she was fiercely independent staying in her own apartment with the help of part-time caregivers. Sadly, Louise experienced a fall that left her tethered to life support and struggling to survive the last nearly four years of her life.
