AHSAHKA - "What crack?"
That was the response of David Wilkins, acting plant supervisor for Dworshak Dam, to a Lewiston Morning Tribune query on the status of a small, leaking crack in the dam, first reported in the spring of 1972 after the reservoir was filled.
The crack since has been repaired, or rather, relieved.

For the third time in less than a week, a storm swept over the Lewiston area, bringing brief, violent downpours of rain at most points in the area and battering hailstones at others.
The storm caused flash-floods that blocked the road from Boggan's Oasis at Troy, Ore., and sent mud and water gushing over U.S. Highway 12 near the foot of Alpowa Grade.
