Neighbors for Books, Families and Children, a citizens committee organized to campaign for passage of a $3.5 million bond levy for a new Lewiston City Library, is calling potential voters.

“We plan to contact as many Lewiston voters by telephone as we can over the next few weeks asking them about their support for the library,” said Margaret Duncan, committee co-chairwoman. “We are asking for their support, offering to provide more information, asking if they would like a yard sign, encouraging them to ask others to vote and telling them the day the election will be held.”

Duncan also is chairwoman of the Lewiston Library Board. Total construction cost is estimated at $4.8 million, with the Library Board and supporters committed to raising $1.3 million of that.
