UPDATE AT 4:38 P.M.

An 18-year-old Lewiston man was taken via air to a local hospital following a head-on car crash Monday morning on U.S. Highway 95 south of Moscow.

According to the Idaho State Police, the man was driving a 2001 Ford Ranger northbound on U.S. 95 at approximately 7:30 a.m. His vehicle crossed the center and struck a southbound 2009 Honda CR-V head on. The male’s Ford Ranger then caught fire.

The Honda was driven by a 20-year-old Caldwell woman who was wearing a seat belt. She was transported to a local hospital by a ground ambulance. 

The Lewiston man was not wearing a seat belt. The crash blocked the highway for more than 3 hours. It remains under investigation.

UPDATE 11:16 A.M. 

U.S. 95 south of Moscow is now open, according to the Latah County Sheriff's Office.

A severe car crash has been reported Monday morning on U.S. Highway 95 south of Moscow near milepost 342.

Idaho Transportation Department says all lanes are blocked. The Latah County Sheriff’s Offices advises drivers to seek alternative routes.
