Lewiston sets another daily record with high of 115

Despite being a little dramatic -- with flames surrounding the planet Earth -- and not the official temperature, a sign at Southgate Plaza notifies people that the current temperature at 2:18 p.m. Tuesday was 120 degrees in the Lewiston Orchards. It was the fourth consecutive day Lewiston saw triple-digit temperatures. The 115 reading was the hottest so far this year, but short of the all-time Lewiston record of 117 registered July 27, 1939.

Today's high temperature broke the previous June 29 record of 108 set in 1939.
