A national television show plans to broadcast a one-hour report about the murder of a Clarkston woman at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9. For most viewers in this area, the show will be on KHQ, Spokane's NBC affiliate.

Dateline NBC crews have been following the case of Rachael Anderson for more than a year. The episode will feature interviews with her family and several area law enforcement officers who were involved in the investigation.

Last fall, one of the crime show's correspondents, Dennis Murphy, visited the Palouse and Lewiston-Clarkston Valley to talk to people closely connected to the case.

Footage from the Charles A. Capone trial in Latah County will be shown, along with the Red Wolf Crossing Bridge near Clarkston, where Anderson's body was discarded by her estranged husband and his former friend in 2010.

In September, Charles A. Capone was found guilty of Anderson's murder, more than four years after the 40-year-old mother disappeared.

Capone's sentencing was initially set for today, Jan. 5, after a jury of seven women and five men convicted him of first-degree murder for strangling Anderson outside his automotive repair shop in Moscow. His sentencing is now set for 9 a.m. Feb. 23 at Latah County 2nd District Court.

The 53-year-old Moscow man is facing life in prison for killing Anderson and dumping her tarp-wrapped body into the Snake River from Red Wolf Crossing Bridge with the help of a former friend. During the trial, David C. Stone, 51, testified against Capone about events that unraveled April 16, 2010 - the last night Anderson was seen alive.

NBC Producer Tom Keenan has contacted people who will appear on the show to let them know it's on Friday night. Major breaking news would bump the episode to a later date.
