Levi Speer pitched five strong innings to lead the Lewis-Clark Cubs to an 11-1 nonleague win over the Colter's Creek Bucks of Kendrick in a nonleague American Legion baseball game Thursday at Harris Field.

Speer allowed five hits while striking out eight and walking one. He fired 54 strikes against just 18 balls.

"That's pretty efficient on his end," Cubs coach Mark Medalia said.

L-C (2-1) got two hits apiece from Kyle Van Boeyen and Connor Stamper.
