PULLMAN - Pullman and West Valley split a wild Great Northern League baseball doubleheader Wednesday, with both teams winning a game on the mercy rule.

The Eagles from Spokane claimed a 14-4 triumph, followed by a 17-3 Greyhounds victory.

Pullman (3-5, 2-2) led the opener 4-3 in the fourth, but that's when West Valley struck for nine runs. The Eagles (6-3, 2-2) cranked five doubles during that spree, and got a three-run homer to center from Ben Foster.

The Hounds bounced back in the second game, pushing across 10 runs in the opening inning. They needed only three hits during that frame, thanks to three West Valley errors, along with six walks and a hit batter.

Brett Druffel led Pullman in the nightcap by going 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored. Brady Mooney also plated three runs.

Pullman is scheduled to play Deer Park in a doubleheader at home on Saturday.
