COLTON - The Genesee Bulldogs were down five points at halftime but clawed their way to a 53-42 nonleague boys' basketball victory Monday night against the Colton Wildcats, thanks in part to 19 points from Beau Tilleman.
"It was a hard fought game," Genesee coach Jeff Boyd said. "They were physical and played very hard. We didn't match them in the first, but we did a good job of matching their energy in the second."
Beau had seven rebounds and three blocks against his 19 points, while teammate Jake DeMeerleer had nine points in addition to his eight points.

POTLATCH - The Loggers earned their first win of the season with a nonleague victory over the Mustangs, helped along by 17 points from Devin Richards.
"It was definitely a change for us in the locker room," Potlatch coach J.R. Buffington said. "We had a mentality that we were going to win the game going into it. They were excited. They were like 'We got that first one now we can win some more.' "
Buffington said it was the first time where the Loggers were in a situation to close out the game, but they kept their cool and knocked down clutch free throws. Potlatch will look to keep the momentum going Thursday at Prairie.

In response, Lapwai assigned Imani Mitchell and Courage Lone Bear to cover Hardin. The Wildcats, who trailed 6-0 early and committed nine first-half turnovers, dominated the third quarter 22-6.
"We got our heads in the game, passed well, got our rhythm and had some leadership on the court," Miles said.
