The Vikings' spark plug, Tyler Thurman, averaged 27 points per game last week.
But that's not all he does for the unbeaten Garfield-Palouse boys' basketball team:
He serves as the glue which holds his 11-0 team together, said Thurman's coach, Tim Coles.
And that's why he's the Tribune's latest Prep Athlete of the Week.
"We're just a big family - we meet at my house all the time and view game films and watch movies and we just have fun together, and Tyler, he's such a jovial kid," Coles said.
"All the coaches in the league just love him," the coach added. "He walks up and hugs all the different coaches, so while he's a competitor, he's also a great kid and we just love having him."
Perhaps the most impressive thing about Thurman this season, Coles said, is his consistency.
"Every game, he just kind of blows it open and most kids, it's hard to come through night after night after night, but he's one of those kids that's so far, every night, he's been the spark that's helped us along."
