When his number was called, Gardner Minshew was ready.
The former Washington State quarterback and current Indianapolis Colts backup entered in reserve for an NFL game against the Houston Texans on Sunday and helped lead his team to a 31-20 victory.
After rookie starter Anthony Richardson was ruled out with a concussion, Minshew came in and completed 19-of-23 passes for 171 yards with a touchdown.
“Every time I get to play football, that’s heaven for me,” Minshew said. “I’m happy to be out here, happy to help out the team, a really great day.”
