WALLA WALLA - The Lewis-Clark Twins piled up 30 hits on the day as they barrelled to a nonleague sweep of Walla Walla in American Legion baseball Tuesday evening.

The scores were 12-7 and 11-1, with the second game ending on the 10-run mercy rule.

L-C started auspiciously, with Riley Way singling, then Jaden Phillips driving him in with a triple and Luke White following with a two-run homer.

"Our bats were alive from the get-go, right when we took our first swings," Twins assistant coach Kevin Maurer said. "That was really nice to see."

White finished 4-for-5 and was a triple short of the cycle. Way, Chandler Tibbits and Danny Robinson added three hits apiece in the opener.

In the second game, Phillips and White added three more hits each, giving pitcher Michael Murphy all the support he needed. Murphy allowed three hits and struck out nine.

The Twins will return to league play tonight at Harris Field when they play host to Northern Lakes of Rathdrum in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
