LA GRANDE, Ore. — The Lewis-Clark State basketball teams accomplished a road sweep over Cascade Conference opponent Eastern Oregon on Friday at Quinn Coliseum Gym in La Grande, Ore.

The Warrior women notched an 86-73 decision over the Mountaineers, and the men edged out a 77-75 victory in overtime.

“Proud of our guys for hanging in there, even when we didn’t have our best stuff,” Lewis-Clark State men’s basketball coach Austin Johnson said. “We were outplayed for most of the night, but we did just enough to hang around, and then guys made plays down the stretch. JB (Jaedon Bradley) was special scoring the ball and we got key plays from every guy on the roster. We had some impressive defensive stands late, which was exciting to see. We will need to tighten some things up and regroup to get ready for C of I.”

Here’s what happened:

Men’s game

Eastern Oregon’s Gorden Boykins converted a jumper on the fastbreak with 31 seconds remaining in regulation to give the Mountaineers (3-10, 2-8) a 66-64 edge.

Senior guard Davian Brown notched a steal and dished out an assist to Sam Stockton at the other end to tie the game at 66 with 25 seconds left in regulation.

In the extra period, Brown cashed in on two free throws to put the Warriors (9-4, 7-0) in front for good 74-72. He finished with eight points and eight rebounds.
