SPOKANE -- Erica Hanson's two-out double in the seventh inning of the opening game scored the winning run, and Pullman went on to claim a Great Northern League softball sweep of West Valley.

The Greyhounds won 5-4 and 16-10.

Hanson cracked her double over the center fielder's head. That allowed Amy Sterk, who was running for Ginger Riddle, to score the winning run.

Hanson notched three RBI in the first game.

In the second game, the Hounds pulled away by scoring 11 runs over the last three innings. Everyone in Pullman's lineup had at least one RBI, led by Ashley Sterk with three.

Katie Hinrichs ignited the Hounds' six-run seventh by hitting a leadoff single, then stealing second.

Pullman improves to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in league.

Clarkston 7-11, Cheney 4-1

After skidding along for the first six innings, Clarkston erupted for six runs in the seventh and eventually swept Cheney in a Great Northern League doubleheader at Lincoln Middle School.

The Bantams won 7-4 and 11-1.

Clarkston entered the seventh down 2-1, but pieced together a rally thanks to six hits.

"We kept putting the ball in play, and good things happened," Bantams coach Shaun O'Kelley said. "And, yeah, it just kind of carried over into the next game."

Clarkston pounded 11 hits in the nightcap, including three triples and two doubles. Michelle Malcom went 3-for-4 and recorded three RBI.

The Bantams improved to 4-6 overall and 3-3 in league.

COLTON -- Sammie Druffel and Ashley Nygreen both threw no-hitters in Colton's sweep of St. John-Endicott in Whitman County League play.

Druffell struck out 12 and walked five in the Wildcats' 15-0 win in the opener. Nygreen fanned 10 and walked three in a 21-0 pasting in the second game.

Both games went five innings.

Colton (7-0, 3-0) was helped by 26 walks on the day. Rochelle Druffel banged out three hits, including a double and triple, with one RBI in the opener.

GRANGEVILLE -- MacKenzie Dawes scored on a passed ball in the eighth inning to lift Potlatch over Grangeville in Central Idaho League action.

Dawes reached base on a softly hit single, stole second on the next pitch, then reached third on a wild pitch.

Crystal Stuvland of the Loggers allowed five hits and struck out 11 in a complete-game effort. Grangeville pitcher Kayla Crosby was equally dominant, fanning nine and surrendering four hits.

"It was just a great game to play," said Potlatch coach Jeff Hanson, whose team moved to 7-3.

COLFAX -- Janet Solbrack furnished two crucial RBI singles to key Colfax's 5-1 win over Lakeside in the second game of a Great Northern League doubleheader.

The Eagles of Nine Mile Falls won the opener 7-3.

Playing just its second and third games of the year, Colfax (2-1 overall and in the GNL) rallied for five runs in the fifth and sixth innings of the second game.

Both of Solbrack's RBI hits came in those two frames. Sadie Lazzarini, meanwhile, punched out 10 batters in a three-hit complete-game performance.

In the opener, the Bulldogs gave up three runs in the first and second innings.
