Seaport striders benefit run - This 5K run will start at 7 p.m. on Aug. 5 with check-in and late registration beginning at 6 p.m. at Chief Looking Glass Park/Asotin High track in Asotin. border cup - The Border Cup, a 2-day golf competition between the Palouse Ridge Golf Club and the University of Idaho golf club, will take place Aug. 6-7 on the Palouse. COLTON RICHARDSON'S BE ELITE FOOTBALL CAMP - This camp, which is being put on by Lewiston High quarterback Colton Richardson for his senior project, is open to third- through eighth-graders from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 6 at Bengal Field. Fundamental skills, positions, plays, 1-on-1 and 7-on-7 will be covered. Each player must provide their own cleats and quarterbacks need to bring a marked football. The cost is $25 and includes a T-shirt and bracelet. The remainder of the fees will be donated to Jackson's Pay It Forward Foundation. Raspberry festival 5K/10K fun run - This run, which offers both 5K and 10K courses, will begin at 8 a.m. on Aug. 7 in front of the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude in Cottonwood. LHS FROSH FOOTBALL GEAR HANDOUT - Paperwork and gear handout will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 10 at the back door of the Jenifer Junior High gym. The health questionnaire and concussion form must be completed online; both can be found online at the LHS athletics home page. Physical and pay-to-participate forms will need to be filled out upon arrival in order to receive gear. Practice will begin Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Jenifer practice field next to Bengal Field. Players should bring cleats, shorts and a notebook and pencil. lewiston high volleyball tryouts - LHS will be holding tryouts for those interested in playing for the Bengal volleyball team this fall. Tryouts will begin on Aug. 12 from 4-7 p.m. at Booth Hall and continue on Aug. 13 from 9 a.m.-noon. Tryouts will also take place from Aug. 15-19 with sessions at 8:30-11 a.m. and 3:30-6 p.m. Incoming ninth and 11th graders, in addition to athletes who didn't participate in sports the prior year, will need a current physical to attend the tryout. colfax high fall sports meeting - This meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Colfax High. Team meetings with information about individual sports will follow the general meeting.

lentil festival sporting events - A variety of athletic events will be held during the 28th Annual National Lentil Festival in Pullman from Aug. 19-21. The second annual Tase T. Lentil Miniature Golf Tournament, held at Airway Hills Golf Course in Pullman, will take place over the three day festival, with teams of two to six players, or families of up to seven players participating. A 5K fun run, 3-on-3 hoop classic, co-ed softball tournament, and bike ride will kick off on Saturday, Aug. 20. The fun run will start at Pufferbelly Depot at 7:30 a.m., and go north on Grand Avenue, finishing at Heroes N' Sports. The hoop classic starts at 9 a.m. in Reaney Park. Anyone from 3rd to 8th grade will be able to participate. Games will last 25 minutes or until one team scores 20 points. The softball tournament will start at 9 a.m. at the Pullman City Playfields. Contact the Pullman Parks and Recreation for an application. The Tour de Lentil Bike Ride starts at 6:30 a.m., and raises funds for the WSU Cycling Club. Fazzari's tennis championship - The LCSC Tennis Center will stage the 28th annual Fazzari's Tennis Championships over two weekends, with junior events starting Friday, Aug. 19 and running through Aug. 21, and adult events the weekend after from Aug. 26-28. Signup for the junior events can be found online before Aug. 14 by 8 p.m., while the deadline for adult events is Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. The first event is $25, with each additional event $15. Draws for the junior tournament will be published online at the LCSC tennis page on Aug. 17, while the adult bracket will be published on Aug. 25. passing camp - The Lewis-Clark Valley Loggers will hold a football camp for quarterbacks and receivers in the 3rd-12th grades Aug. 20 at Sunset Park from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. The camp, which will provide instruction by college coaches and players from the Loggers, costs $45 to attend and includes a t-shirt. Pickleball clinic - Held by Lewiston Parks and Recreation, this clinic will run from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesdays at the pickleball courts at Sunset Park in Lewiston. Participants will learn the fundamentals of the sport and equipment will be provided, though attendees must come dressed to play.
