Both LSU-Shreveport and LCSC remained in the same positions from last year's final poll.

Lewis-Clark State, under coach Gary Picone in his second season, will open the season in Phoenix at the Arizona Desert Classic on Feb. 2-4. The team's first home games will come during the Northwest NAIA Tournament on Feb. 10-12.

Vandals sign three

MOSCOW - Idaho volleyball coach Debbie Buchanan has signed three high school seniors to join the program next fall, including two standouts from within the state.

Katelyn Peterson, a 6-foot outside hitter from Camas County in Fairfield, Idaho; Jenna Ellis, a 5-foot-8 libero from Century High in Pocatello, Idaho; and Ali Forde, a 6-foot-2 outside hitter from Woodinville High in Woodinville, Wash., will join the Vandals in the fall of 2012.

Peterson was a three-time first-team all-state selection at Camas County High School, and led CCHS to three consecutive Idaho 1A Division II state championships.

Ellis is a two-time Idaho 4A Player of the Year, and led Century High School to back-to-back state championships in 2010 and 2011.

Forde signed with Idaho on a basketball scholarship and will play volleyball as well for the Vandals. She was named the Female Athlete of the Year for 2010 by the Seattle Times.
