The Lewis-Clark Cubs pieced together a three-run surge in the seventh inning to take the lead, and they held on from there to complete a two-day, two-game sweep of the Asotin County Blues at Harris Field on Thursday night.
The score was 4-3.
The Cubs (16-7) were down 2-1 entering the seventh, but got started quickly with back-to-back doubles from Chris Powell and Riley Way. The former came home on the latter's hit.
Leyton Wallace then drove in the lead-taking run with a hit, and Colton Stottlemyre added another RBI single that proved crucial.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Blues (9-12) loaded the bases on walks, then got a run-scoring hit. But Cubs closer Cooper Lund responded by drawing a strikeout, then induced the next two batters into flyouts to end the game.
Wallace pitched well during the first six innings and also batted 3-for-4.
L-C also beat the Blues 7-3 on Wednesday.
"These last two games kind of got us back on track," Cubs coach Cody Weiss said. "We're back to playing more sound baseball."

Cougs add volunteer assistant
PULLMAN - Washington State's new baseball coaching staff was rounded out Thursday with the addition of Braden Wells as a volunteer coach.
Wells played at Oregon State from 2007-08 as an outfielder, and helped the Beavers win the second of their back-to-back national championships in 2007. One of the assistant coaches for Oregon State at the time was Marty Lees, who is the Cougars' new head coach.
Wells, a native of Glendale, Ariz., was an undergraduate assistant for Oregon State in 2009 before joining the Grand Canyon University coaching staff as a graduate assistant for two seasons (2011-12). Wells has spent the past three seasons as a graduate assistant at Concordia of Portland, Ore.
