Steve Backlund of Igniting Hope Ministries will take part in a conference Aug. 20 and 21 at Echo Hills Church in Lewiston.

Backlund’s appearance is being organized by Lewiston Healing Rooms, a nonprofit, nondenomination group. Backlund is “an encourager, leader developer, joy activist, and a revivalist teacher,” according to promotional material.

There will be three sessions: 6 p.m. Aug. 20, 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 21 and 6 p.m. Aug. 21. Tickets for the entire conference cost $50 and can be purchased online at echohillschurch.com/steve or by calling (208) 790-3215. The public is invited to attend.

The Episcopal Church of the Nativity will provide a free community supper from 4-5 p.m. today at the church. In person dining, with a take-out option, is available throughout the 4-5 p.m. hour. Entry is through both the east entry door off the parking lot on Eighth Avenue and the Eighth Street west entry door. The church’s food pantry is open 8:30 a.m. to noon every Tuesday, with entry only through the east entry door on Eighth Avenue. The church is located at 731 Eighth St., Lewiston.
