Support World Series
I write for the very first time to share three things with you. First, kudos to your excellent sportswriter, Teren Kowatsch. I have enjoyed all of the sports coverage for the past 30-plus years, but Mr. Kowatsch’s unique perspective has been particularly enjoyable.
Secondly, hats off to our Lewis-Clark State College Warrior baseball program, players and coaches alike. Despite our recent setback, this program continues to be strong and the future bright. We are certainly spoiled here ... after the many, many years of success at the highest level: 19 national championships and have been in the heat of things in those years we didn’t win it all. So, no hanging of heads or glum faces.
Finally, I urge the entire Lewiston-Clarkston Valley to continue with the massive support that has allowed us to host the NAIA World Series these past 24 years. One of the principle reasons for this unprecedented 24-year run has been the marvelous attendance ... . This tournament is subject to bid again, and if we hope to retain this showcase event, we need to ... support the efforts of Brooke Henze and her excellent staff in the upcoming tournament.
Remember, not only do we have the privilege of watching 10 of the best teams in the nation fight it out on our home field, the community at large benefits hugely in the economic boost this tournament brings to our valley’s businesses.
So, I hope to see you all at Harris Field beginning today ... .
