Back open primary

Hey folks, the Idaho Legislature is in session and every day they are making decisions that affect you and your family’s future. Watch for lots of action on issues we care about.

It’s time to get involved in the elector process. Are you a registered voter? Are you unregistered, but eligible to vote? Get registered at your county courthouse or online via voteidaho.gov.

And use your “voice” by signing the Open Primary Initiative petition for opportunities to participate in decisions about who represents you in Idaho government. If enough people sign the petition before May 1, the Open Primary Initiative question will be on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.

Give all voters the freedom to vote in Idaho primary elections regardless of your political affiliation. Currently that freedom is denied to approximately 270,000 Idahoans. The OPI allows voters to directly elect leaders who represent your interests instead of political parties choosing who is on the ballot.

Many Idahoans support this initiative including Veterans for Idaho Voters, Idaho Chapter of Mormon Women for Ethical Government, North Idaho Women, Hope Coalition, Reclaim Idaho and Republicans for Open Primaries.

Make your voices heard at the ballot box for government that works for a better Idaho.

She will be missed

Evelyn “Elaine” Spencer passed away Dec. 22. Wow ... what a lady. She will be truly missed.

She had many talents and one was as the jewelry lady at both St. Vincent de Paul stores for many years.

She was such a proper lady and she was such a sweetheart. Evelyn “Elaine,” you were so very special and you will always be remembered.
