Need earlier TV listings

I would like to add a comment to the letter about TV listings from Jeannette Kelley published in the Dec. 22 Tribune.

It would be really helpful if the Saturday Tribune could have TV listings from not only Saturday and Sunday, but Monday also, since a lot of us don’t get our morning Tribune until noon or later.

Those of us living rurally who enjoy sports would really appreciate this.

Fortunate to have Tribune

Yes my rural friends, I, too, find it inconvenient to to not have a weekly TV guide, but please remember the headwinds that the Tribune navigates.

I will not take up space to list the statistics of local newspapers disappearing across the U.S., but please keep in mind the service that this paper provides, and that we are doggone fortunate to have this public service.

The Tribune informs me of all the goings on in the region, which adds to my quality of life without the disinformation of social media. Yes, it is, by necessity, limited but is indeed crucial.

I lost my morning carrier a few years ago (driving rural roads in a snowstorm before dawn), but have lived quite well with my U.S. Postal Service delivery (underrated in my opinion) and have simply realized that all are doing their best.

Even if a subscription increase comes in the future, please count me as a dedicated reader. To all the staff at the Lewiston Tribune, I convey my sincere gratitude.

Speed limit is 20 mph

The photo in the Dec. 19 Lewiston Tribune showed a street speed monitor at Lewiston’s East Main Street entrance. The headline over it says “Two mph over” with the sign reading 27 mph, insinuating the speed limit is 25 mph on Main Street. Almost directly across the street from this speed monitor is a street sign that says the speed limit is 20 mph.

The 20 mph street signs are posted for several blocks along Main Street. Apparently many people still think the speed limit is 25 mph on this portion of Main Street. As I drive east on Main Street at 20 mph, many people pass me like I am nearly standing still. The 20 mph speed limit on this part of Main Street has been this way for a long time.
