No governance

Many Americans, blinded by misinformation, are loyal to a new kind of governance: Call it no governance. Led by cowards, the continuing genocide in Israel, as well as antisemitism here, is tearing people apart. Jeremy Scahill of the Intercept says the administration’s messaging is useless.

Hating Jews and Palestinians is nothing new.

According to haaretz.com, Jews and Palestinians share common genetics, in addition to being jammed together in a tiny country. Yes, Israel has a right to defend itself. But when thousands of civilians die, “defense” ceases. Hamas violently raped, mutilated and murdered many women. This cannot go unpunished. But answering atrocities with more atrocities is not a solution. It only creates more hate (and terrorists). Benjamin Netanyahu says he is merely rooting out evil. Problem is, both sides are evil.

New York Times: Israeli “intelligence” learned about the Hamas plot a year ago. Conclusion: Netanyahu let it happen. Proof: Response time to send protection for his citizens was eight hours. To cover his embarrassing intelligence failure, Bibi is using American ordnance to kill Hamas militants. However, only a few terrorists are dead. But thousands of Palestinian civilians are.

Reuters reports: Hamas says 60 of the kidnapped hostages are dead. According to Roach, U.S.-made “smart” bombs cannot tell a civilian from a terrorist. Killing kids, mothers and the elderly because they did it first is the very definition of insanity.

Kurt Vonnegut’s book title, “Welcome to the Monkey House” perfectly describes my feelings about our sorry state of affairs.

Donate to animal shelter

Charity starts at home, just like buying local.

Every year, TV commercials start showing abused animals and requesting donations to the ASPCA, an animal cruelty prevention group.

Please consider having your donation go to the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter in Lewiston. They are a no-kill shelter and every cent will go to building a new shelter south of the airport for our local animals in need.

Becky Sturmer, development director, and the board of directors are working diligently to move to the second phase. Drive by Southport and see the progress and give to our local animals in distress. Go to lcshelter.org and view ways to help with this worthwhile project or drive out to 6 Shelter Road to the old shelter and realize their needs.

Trump’s toxic hogwash

It boggles the mind how so many of my fellow citizens still support Donald Trump.

Toxic hogwash comes out of his mouth every day. Let’s review.

He tried to bribe a foreign president. He lied to us about COVID-19. He took the word of Vladimir Putin over every U.S. intelligence agency. He tried to overturn a presidential election. He incited an attack on our Capitol, then sat back and watched it on TV, etc., etc. And still people support him.

To all the Republicans who support Trump, ask yourself one simple question: If a Democrat was in the White House, and he or she behaved exactly as Trump did, how would I respond? I think I know: You would have screamed at the top of your lungs for their immediate resignation, and rightly so. The continued support boggles the mind.
