Steven Earl Clyde, a beloved son, brother, uncle and husband, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the age of 60. Steve was the firstborn of Robert Earl and Patricia Marie Clyde. He was a lifelong resident of the Palouse and grew up with a love for the land, participating in 4-H and working the fields, alongside his father. He was proud of his agricultural heritage and became a fifth-generation farmer himself. Steve was also the co-owner and operator of Windy Ridge Kennels alongside his first wife, Becky. His commitment to both his work and community extended to his role at the North Latah Highway District.

Steve’s educational journey began in the Moscow school system and as a member of the Bald Butte 4-H Club. He graduated from Moscow High School in 1982. He furthered his studies at the University of Idaho earning his baccalaureate degree in 1989. His passion for farming, family and friends defined his character and he touched the lives of many.

He was preceded in death by his father and best friend, Robert Earl Clyde. Steve is survived by his second wife, Debbie; his mother, Patricia; two younger brothers, Scott and Ken; Ken’s wife and two children (GayLynn, Kolby and Kacie); as well as his first wife, Becky.

Interment will be in the family plot at the Moscow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his paternal grandmother’s memorial fund, the Lola Gamble Clyde Memorial Endowment, at Lewis-Clark State College, please contact (208) 792-2458 or collegeadvancement@lcsc.edu.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held Friday, July 5, with details to be provided at a later date. Short’s Funeral Chapel of Moscow is in charge of arrangements and condolences may be left at shortsfuneralchapel.com.
