Sharon McLellen passed away Aug. 1, 2013, at home.
Sharon Jean (Pond) Miller was born Dec. 22, 1940, to Glen Pond and Dorothy Hutchins in Spokane. Her mother, Dorothy, then married Earl Miller and they lived in Pierce and later Kamiah. She attended school in Pierce and Kamiah.
She married Collin Anderson and had a son, Randy. Then she was married to Robert Clark and had a daughter, Gwen. After her children were grown, she married Max McLellen and spent 28 fun-filled years traveling the Southwest and Mexico and making many friends.
Sharon worked as a nurse's aide at St. Mary's Hospital in Cottonwood, but her main career was bartending. She truly enjoyed visiting with the locals and visitors to Kamiah and Nezperce. She also worked with the Lewis County Transportation Department, and was president for the Lawyers Creek Homeowners Water Association as a volunteer. Sharon was a Gold Circle Member of the Veterans Affairs Ladies Auxiliary.
One of Sharon's greatest joys was the time spent with her Red Hat Ladies. She loved the monthly luncheons, many parades and state conference. Even after she moved to Lewiston, she would attend as many of the Kamiah Red Hatters functions as she could. She cherished each woman in this group as a sister.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Miller; and her fathers, Earl Miller and Glen Pond. She is survived by her son, Randy (Teresa) Anderson of Reno, Nev.; her daughter, Gwen (Dan) Flaherty of Eagle, Idaho; her granddaughter, Brandie Jean Jay of Athens, Ga.; her sister, Linda (Tom) Maddox of Newport, Ore.; and her brother, Ray (Shirley) Miller of Glen Eden Beach, Ore.
Per Sharon's request, no services will be held.
