Scott Parrish, a resident of the Clearwater Valley from 2005-17, passed away at his Boise apartment Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023. It was his 62nd birthday.

Scott was born in Boise, the son of Evan and Betty Parrish. He was a special son, blessed with special needs and special talents. He loved school and maintained communication with many of his teachers throughout his life.

After starting grade school in Sagle, Idaho, he continued his education in Riggins, attending Salmon River High School through his junior year. His family moved to Boise in 1980 and he graduated from Boise High School in 1981. In 2005 he moved to Kooskia, and later Kamiah, where he participated in Opportunities Unlimited activities, sang with the Valley Singers, and attended Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church. He later joined the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints. Scott returned to the Boise Valley in 2017.

Scott was a gifted artist who enjoyed sketching, wood burning, face painting and cross stitch. He had a passion for cats, and loved attending movies and plays and listening to music. A gentle man, Scott was known for having a kind heart and being polite.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Evan and Betty Parrish. He is survived by siblings Marty (Colleen) Parrish of Meridian; Nancy Lutz of New Orleans; David (Debbie) Parrish of Donnelly; Elayne (Pat) Murphy of Kooskia; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who loved him. We will miss his warm smile, kind words and lovely artwork.
