Sandra (Sandy) Sue Huling beloved wife, loved mother, grandmother and sister passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at her home surrounded by family, due to cancer.

Sandy was born Aug. 3, 1940, in South Gate, Calif., to Grace and Omar Danielson. She was raised in California, graduating from Lynnwood High School in 1958.

Sandy married James Marshall Huling in Lynnwood, Calif., June 20, 1958. They were married for 50 years. Sandy met James (Jimmy) at a good friend's wedding, where she was a bridesmaid and he was an usher. Sandy and Jimmy moved to Chandler, Ariz., where Jim was stationed with the United States Air Force at Williams Air Force Base. After Jimmy's discharge from the military they returned to Lynnwood, Calif.

In her early years, she worked for U.S. Steel Corporation and University of California at Davis. In 1973, Sandy, Jim and family moved to Lewiston. Sandy worked at The Bank of Idaho before beginning her exciting and rewarding 31-year career with Clearwater Power Company. Hired in 1974, Sandy began working as a billing clerk and advanced through the ranks to become the first woman general manager of Clearwater Power Company. Sandy always said, "Becoming an employee of CPC was like becoming a member of a family." She spent almost half of her life working for Clearwater Power Company. She felt part of a very unique organization. Sandy retired in 2005.

Sandy loved being with her family. Giving selflessly to others, her home was always open. She hosted numerous special gatherings and attended to every detail at Christmas time. She especially enjoyed being "Grannie" and "Grandma." She endlessly doted over her grandkids, planning activities from tea parties, fishing, water parks, insect shopping and turtle care to Silverwood weekends and vacations. Mom took her family on dream vacations to Disneyland and Hawaii, leaving us all with treasured memories. Family reunions at her parents' cabin were highlighted with fun times, trips to the North Fork and simply enjoying nature.
