The young couple farmed in the Ferdinand area until 1951, when they moved their family to the Reubens area and farmed until retirement in 1989. They spent their retirement years traveling and fishing. They loved attending their grandchildren's sporting events and cheering them on.

Bob married Bonnie Flinn in 2009 and they made their home in Lewiston. They loved to travel and enjoyed all their friends and family who came to visit them at their condo. They were members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
