Rex Donald Lott, 80, of Mesa, Ariz., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008.

He was born in Holt, Mich., Nov. 9, 1927, one of 13 children. Many of his extended family still live in the Holt area.

As a young man, Rex worked for the Michigan State University Cooperative and served in the U.S. Army. He married Margaret Haxton Kelly in June 1955.

Rex gave generously of his time to various community causes, including Catholic parish work, coaching and assisting with early childhood development causes.

Rex and his wife, Margaret, retired to Arizona in 1985. They found an extended family at the Ambassador Downs Retirement Community, where they enjoyed many wonderful years.
