She lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011.

Patricia J. Allert was born in Texas Jan. 1, 1933. She graduated from Pullman High School in 1950 and went on to Kinman Business College in Spokane. On June 9, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, Dewayne Allert.

Pat was active in Jaycees, Lions, a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Moscow and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Pat enjoyed camping with the Northwest Travelers Camp Group. She is an honored retiree after 16 years of service as a bookkeeper at the University of Idaho.

She is survived by her husband, Dewayne, of 60 years; five children, Paul (Kathie) Allert of Holbrook, N.Y., Diane Deschamp of Spokane, Mark (Kim) Allert of Kamiah, Linda (Mike) Scoles of Moscow, and Dave (Kris) Allert of Meridian, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial open house from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Scoles residence, located at 332 Dolly Drive in Moscow.
