Michael O'Connor Mackey, 52, of Lewiston, died unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, after a brief illness.

Michael was born Jan. 13, 1957, at Lewiston to Oliver M. and Patricia O'Connor Mackey. A lifelong area resident, Michael attended Our Lady of Lourdes, McSorley Elementary, Jenifer Junior High and Lewiston High schools.

He held employment at various local businesses such as Big V Department Store, CED, and more recently, Airport Rent-A-Space.

Michael married Anne M. David in 1979, and the marriage later ended in divorce. In 1986, he married Kari L. Nelson.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, camping, taxidermy, upholstery, water sports, landscaping and gardening, classic '70s rock 'n' roll music, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Michael is survived by his wife, Kari L. Mackey of Lewiston; daughter Tiffiny Fisher and husband Nick of Beaverton, Ore.; son, Jordan Mackey of Lewiston; daughter Amitti Mackey of Lewiston; parents, Patricia and James Givens of Lewiston; brother, Daniel Mackey and wife Tammy of Fort Collins, Colo.; sisters, Mary Knutson and husband Allen of Boise, Marcia Torrey and husband Jerry of Portland, Ore., and Joan Nelson and husband Richard of Sacramento, Calif.; mother-in-law, Linda Nelson of Lewiston; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Mackey Jr.; paternal grandparents, Oliver and Gertrude Lyons Mackey Sr.; and maternal grandparents, George and Zelma Filiatreault O'Connor.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, with a reception to follow. The Rev. Sean Caulfield and Sister Margie Schmidt will officiate. A private family interment will take place at Normal Hill Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established at Zions Bank for contributions.

Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home in Lewiston is handling the arrangements.
