Kert C. Colvin of Moscow was pronounced deceased Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at his Moscow home. He was 44.

Kert was born Aug. 23, 1973, in Oxnard, Calif., to Brice and Jan Garrison Colvin, both former Moscow residents. He graduated from Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard in 1991. Kert attended Ventura Junior College for two years following graduation, and then transferred to the University of Idaho in 1994. He graduated from UI with a degree in computer science in 2000.

During this time, Kert was active helping with the family business in Moscow, managing and maintaining apartment rentals. After graduation, he moved back to Southern California to provide total care of his parents with their terminal illnesses. Following the death of both parents, Kert moved back to Moscow to be near his brother Dean and his family.

In his spare time, he read a great deal, particularly books about coding on computers. He played a multitude of musical instruments, including drums, bass guitar, clarinet and piano. He played these in many genres of bands over his lifetime. Kert also enjoyed fishing, travel and visiting with family and friends, especially his many nieces and nephews. He would always provide a helping hand when any of his friends or family were in need.
