Jon Wasem passed away Tuesday Oct. 23, 2012.

He was born in Clarkston on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1960, to Cliff and Dorothy (Farthing) Wasem. He attended Parkway Elementary, Lincoln Middle School, and Charles Francis Adams High School, where he was very active in the marching and concert bands.

After high school, Jon worked for Omark/CCI before joining his grandfather, Weldon, his dad, Cliff, and brother, Rick, in the family drug store in Clarkston.

As manager of the photo department, he developed a great deal of knowledge and skill with photographic equipment and took photos of many class reunions and weddings.

Jon married Brenda Walker of Grangeville and they have two sons together, Stephen and Jonathon. Jon and Brenda were later divorced.

His lifelong interest in music led him to form "Eclipse," his own rock band, as well as play percussion in the Shriners' Oriental Band.

Jon was a Member of the Masonic Lodge and honored to become a line officer in the Shrine. He was elected to the exalted position of Potentate of the Calam Temple of the Shrine in 2002. He enjoyed working on projects to raise funds for the Shriners' Childrens' hospitals.

He was an avid snow skier, golfer and loved to travel to warm and sunny destinations. His favorite holiday was Fourth of July, and he always celebrated with the biggest firecrackers available.

Jon was well known for his generous hospitality, always welcoming friends to his home, even giving them a cozy place to live.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sons, Jonathon and Stephen; his brother, Rick; and his sisters, Anne and Katie; as well as many good and loyal friends. He will be missed. A private service will be held for the family.
