Jeffrey Sherman Guier, our loving husband, father and papa, left this earth Thursday, April 4, 2024, following complications from a car accident in January.

Jeff was born Nov. 11, 1953, in Lewiston, to Jack and Zella Guier. The family moved to Alderwood Manor when Jeff was 8 years old, where he spent most of his childhood and made lifelong friends. Jeff, always spirited and adventurous, had many stories of the mischief he and his friends got into while growing up. He spent many summers in the Kendrick area and attended Kendrick High School for one year before graduating from Mariner High School in 1973.

Jeff worked various jobs until he was hired by Burlington Northern Railroad, a career he enjoyed greatly. While on a project in Ellensburg, he met the love of his life, Janice Tveter. They married soon after, July 25, 1981, and enjoyed 42 years together. Jeff and Janice moved to Lewiston, where they purchased a home and began raising their children, Casey, Natalie and Jillian.

Jeff’s adventurous spirit led to the opening of his espresso stand ‘Good to Go Espresso,’ which he operated in the Lewiston Center Mall until he was ready to follow another dream. In 1993, that dream of owning land came true when he and Janice spied the perfect spot and along with his brother Ron and family, settled on 50 acres in Deary. They continued to enjoy life and adventure with family on their land until 2018, when they moved to Moscow following the passing of their son.

Jeff struggled with health issues for most of his adult life and went on dialysis in his early fifties. However, this never kept him from living his life fully, and he was overjoyed to accept the title of Papa when his grandson Jacob was born. He and Jacob became best friends playing games, running around and as Jeff liked to say, “just being boys.” Jeff had many joys in life including American history, hunting, fishing, camping, cards and storytelling, yet his greatest joy of all was his family.

The only gift he ever asked for was time spent together. Thanks to his sheer tenacity and fighting spirit, many wonderful moments were shared. He is deeply loved and missed by those he leaves behind. He is survived by his wife Janice; daughters Natalie and Jillian; grandson Jacob; siblings Steve (Joan), Ronald (Kathy) and Shannon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and many relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his son Casey, brother Jim Guier and parents Jack and Zella Guier.
