James Lee Rhodes, 58, passed away at his Lewiston residence Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010. James was born March 26, 1951, at Caldwell, to Tarvis and Lavona Ellison Rhodes. The family moved to Canyon City, Ore., in 1953, where he attended grade school. They moved to Lewiston in 1964, where James attended high school.
James has worked in the area as a dishwasher and a custodian. He was involved with SL Start and Associates, where he did a lot of crafts and won many ribbons.
He had a cat that he loved very much. He loved to spend time with his family, especially in the outdoors and especially fishing.
James is survived by a brother, Tarvis S. Rhodes of Lewiston; sisters Geri Greer of Longview, Wash., Betty Elliott of Goldvein, Va., Connie Rhodes of Clarkston, and Lorene Rhodes of Lewiston; numerous nephews and nieces; and by lifelong family friend Betty J. Blair.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tarvis and Lavona Rhodes, and a younger sister, Norene Fay Nethery.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home in Lewiston. Interment of his cremated remains will follow the service at Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston.
