Dean Lodge passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Tri-State Memorial Hospital, at the age of 88.
He was born Nov. 3, 1930, in Lewiston, to Bessie Cable Blankenship and Cecil Dean Lodge. Dean graduated from Clarkston High School in 1949, and served four years in the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant and cook.
He married Patricia Vogan. Their marriage ended in divorce. His former spouses, Eva McKean and Lanora Golden, predeceased him. He later married Virginia Wayt.
He drove truck for Troy Lumber until he went to work at Potlatch Corp. on the wood side. Dean was a grader and supervisor. He retired after 30 years of service.
Dean belonged to Sonrise Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lodge, of Clarkston; daughter Lynn (Keith) Hawkins of Asotin; son Doug Lodge of Lewiston; son Larry Lodge (Terri) of Clarkston; daughters Lori (Dan) Long and Carol (Norman) Hough, both of Clarkston; stepson Dan (Tammi) Wayt of Orofino; stepdaughter Jane Frohlich of Spokane; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Dean was preceded in death by his grandson, Danny Long; wives Eva McKean and Lanora Golden; sister Jean Anderson; and brother-in-law Wally Anderson.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sonrise Baptist Church, 2620 22nd St., Clarkston Heights, with Pastor John Van Vogt of Pataha. A celebration of life will follow from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Clarkston Eagles.
