The precious soul of our "Poppy," Francis J. Landis, 94, left this world and went to heaven on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017.
Francis served his country with grace and honor during World War II. His many travels and adventures finally settled him in Lewiston, where he began building his life and his family. Francis eventually retired from Potlatch Forests Inc. in Lewiston.
A man of few words and a gentle spirit, strong in his belief systems, Francis lovingly molded his family through his enduring patience and with example, kindness, goodness and integrity. "Poppy" was truly one of God's best creations. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by a very large family to include in-laws, nieces and nephews; but most of all by those who will be forever grateful for his daily presence in our lives: his sister, Jean Miller of Seattle; his truest love and wife, Bonnie Landis of Post Falls; and those of us who are lucky enough to have called him our Dad and our "Poppy": his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We love you and will miss you so much our dear "Poppy."
