Florence Emma Henry died on Friday, Aug. 25, 2023 at her Lewiston home.

Mom was born Feb. 7, 1928, at Garretts Run, Pa., to Walter and Hulda Hershberger.

She graduated from Kittanning High School in 1945. She married dad on Sept. 26, 1946. They had two children, son Terry in 1948 and daughter Joan in 1952.

The family moved to Lewiston, in 1963. Mom went to work for North Idaho Children’s Home in 1964 and retired as office manager in 1985. After retiring, mom and dad traveled in their recreational vehicle.

Mom was an avid golfer and played in the ladies’ leagues while she and dad played couples. They were avid snowmobilers and “Flossie,” as she was fondly called, was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Emerson Henry, brother Carl Hershberger and sister Rachel Miller-Schmidt. She is survived by her son Terry (Mabrey) Henry, daughter Joan Henry, five granddaughters, two step-grandsons, six great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and many beloved family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens.
