Earl Lee Darst, 62, of Clarkston, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019, in Yakima.

He was born Oct. 10, 1956, to Richard and Arlene (Richman) Darst, in Coulee Dam, Wash.

Earl graduated from Clarkston High School in 1975 and joined the U.S. Air Force shortly after.

He married Ruth Ann Lehnen in Walla Walla; they later divorced. He later married Connie Mason Naset on July 5, 1991, in Coeur d’Alene, and they also divorced.

Earl was a member of Operating Engineers Union No. 370. He worked numerous jobs in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. He spent one year on a large construction site in Wyoming, also for a time in Southern California and a summer in Alaska. He was employed at Lower Granite Dam for several years until retiring Oct. 10, 2018.

He is survived by his mother, Arlene; brothers David (Loy) Darst and Leslie (Kathy) Darst; daughters Kelsy Jean Darst and Jelee (Kit) Darst; grandchildren Eian Darst, Chaos and Tylee Paine, and Mya, Elijah and Tyler Jr. Rush; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard.

A viewing will take place starting at 11 a.m. Tuesday and will conclude with a service at 2 p.m. at Merchant Funeral Home, 1000 Seventh St., Clarkston.
