David Anthony Nowak of Troy died Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident May 18. He was 56.
Dave was born June 19, 1959, in Chicago, to Anthony and Dolores Nowak. He grew up and attended school there, graduating from Rogers High School. He then began his career in commercial printing, first in Chicago, Denver, Spokane, and for the past nine years at Washington State University. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, playing pool and riding his "Harley." His other passion was his beloved dogs.
David and Christy Prather were married Nov. 14, 1997, in Denver. She survives at their home in Troy. Also surviving are his son, Eric (Rianne) Nowak and his granddaughter Amethyst of Post Falls; and son Kristopher and Kaycie Baird of Spokane Valley, Wash.; as well as his mother, Dolores Nowak of Yorkville, Ill.; and a sister, Cindy Mak of Aurora, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
The family suggests memorials in memory of Dave be made to any wildlife or forestry projects in Idaho.
