Danial ‘Pete’ A. Harding

Danial “Pete” Harding, 74, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. He was born June 28, 1949, at Grangeville, to Daniel S. Harding and Cornelia Schradonovich.

Pete was a Kamiah native and lived there continuously until 1984 when he moved to Clarkston, where he lived at the time of his passing. He graduated from Kamiah High School.

Pete was a heavy equipment operator during his working career. He understood and valued hard work and had the work ethic to prove it.

Pete married Carol Jean Harding on July 3, 1975. He was previously twice married and divorced.

Pete loved the outdoors and spending time in the woods cutting down trees and enjoying the natural surroundings. He also loved spending time with his family, collecting record albums and listening to music — mostly from the 1970s.

Pete is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Jean Harding; brother/sister-in-law Jo (Tammy) Harding, of Kamiah; brother Kim Harding, Kamiah; sister/brother-in-law Betsy (Clifford) Walker, Kamiah; sons Dean (Corinna) Harding, Clarkston; David Harding, Gillette, Wyo.; and Alex (Kristi Parks) Harding, Lewiston; daughter Tineall (Mitch) Wagner, Lewiston; grandkids: Austin Harding, Emily LeCates, Gabrielle Held, Cedric Harding, Michael Rinard, Nicholas Rinard, Annmarie Wanderer, Elissa Harding and Sydney Hester; as well as numerous great-grandkids.

The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Merchant Funeral Home, 1000 Seventh St., Clarkston.
