Cynthia Ann Rinard Lubahn Fuqua passed away on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023, in Puyallup, Wash. She was 82 years old.

Ann was born July 16, 1941, in Lewiston. Her parents were Violet (Carlson) and Albert Rinard. She spent part of her childhood in Boise returning to Clarkston in 1953 when she was 12. Ann graduated from Clarkston High School in 1959 and then attended Eastern Washington University in Cheney.

In 1961, she married John Lubahn and after a short time in Spokane they settled in Puyallup. They had two sons, Scott and Rick. The marriage later ended in divorce.

Ann worked at Country Boys/IGA and Hi Hi/Fred Meyer for many years when her family was young.

After her divorce she moved to Alaska for a new adventure and worked for Job Services sending day laborers out to companies needing short term workers.

Ann married Steve Fuqua in Alaska in 1980 and they moved to Clarkston to be closer to her mother. Ann worked for the City of Lewiston at the cemetery for many years.

After her mother died, Ann took over the care of her younger brother Larry. In 1993 she, Steve and Larry moved back to Puyallup and Ann went to work for and retired from the City of Auburn.

Steve passed away in 2002. Later she and John reconnected, and Ann took care of him after he became ill.

Ann was an avid reader and could spend hours in a bookstore or library. She had a sense of adventure and loved to travel whenever she could. When her kids were young, she spent many hours watching and supporting youth baseball and other sports.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi where she made lifelong friends in Lewiston and Puyallup.

Ann loved to entertain friends and family and did whenever she could. She had many close and wonderful friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Violet Rinard, her husband John Lubahn and husband Steve Fuqua and brother Mike Rinard.

She is survived by her brother Larry Rinard, of Puyallup; sons Scott Lubahn (Jodie), of Sumner, Wash., and Rick Lubahn (Carol), of Puyallup; grandchildren Nora Gimma (Jason), Kurtis Lubahn, Erik Lubahn, Cheyanne Lubahn and Hallie Lubahn; great-grandchildren Nyoko, Kaemon, Melody, Maeve, Vaeylin and Maizie. She also loved numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life Saturday, July 13, for family and close friends in Puyallup.
